Classy&Sassy: the 4th edition

ALAINA WALLER WINE

Alaina is not your average winemaker. For starters, she's young and she's a woman. Alaina grew up on her family's vineyard in the Hood River Valley and went on to receive a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Oregon State University. 

Her first job right out of college was at Gallo, so she spent some time in California. Her favorite winery in Napa is Louis Martini.

"They make a field blend from their 100 year old vineyard called Mountain Red. I always buy as much as possible whenever I get the chance," states Alaina. "Classy / Sassy is very literally based off of that wine I love in Napa. I try to mimic it as much as possible, right down to the percentages of each varietal."

Alaina released the first
Classy / Sassy of the series in June of 2019.
This was a 2017 vintage dubbed

A Little Classy / A Little Sassy. 

In September of 2020, 

Too Classy / Too Sassy

was released. 
If you were lucky enough to get a sold out
barrel tasting ticket in April of 2023 —
you got to enjoy the third wine in this series.
She called it

Classy / Sassy Tokyo Drift.

Classy & Sassy — the 4th wine in the series is finally here. 
Aged 22 months in neutral oak, released October 2024,
this Alaina Waller wine evokes notes of
red fruit, plums, light oak
and eating a burrito in your ballgown.

50% Zinfandel

38% Syrah

12% Grenache

Peter hired Alaina in 2014 to support him with her technical winemaking knowledge. Five years later, in 2019 her understanding of Peter's winemaking philosophy gained her the control of our winemaking. In that time, she's added her stamp to what we now consider our best in class, amazing, award winning wines!

When she's not in the cellar, you can find her on the mountain rescuing people for the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol.
