Backyard campouts. Third-date nightcaps. Girls’ night in. At Evoke Winery, we make feel-good wines for whatever the times. It’s as true today as it was when we opened in 2005. Because sometimes life’s a party, and sometimes not so much, but as long as you’ve got good wine and good company, any time can be a good time.
When we called ourselves “Evoke,” we were thinking of that warm glow that pops up whenever we picture the most important people in our lives. The people that remind us that no matter what life throws at us, with our people around, everything will really be ev-okay.
So get your special people together, open a bottle of wine and get the juicy convo flowing. After all, those memories aren’t gonna make themselves.
Meet the family.

Meet our winemakers
Peter Steinfeld
Alaina Waller
Adam Carr
Owner & CEO
Serendipity introduced Peter to our former owners and founders while riding a chairlift at Mt. Hood in 2010. They were looking for a full-time winemaker and (as luck would have it) Peter was just the man for the job! Having grown up in Germany, Peter learned winemaking and distilling at a young age from his uncle. When he started work in the winery over a decade ago, our total case production was a mere 2,000 cases. Peter has helped to grow our winery production to more than 45,000 cases since then. He and his wife Kristi took over the business in 2017.
Head Winemaker
Alaina is not your average winemaker. For starters, she’s young...and she’s a woman. Alaina grew up on a vineyard in the Hood River Valley and went on to receive a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Oregon State University. Alaina joined the Evoke team to oversee winemaking in 2014 and has been dishing up award-winning wines and delicious club exclusive selections ever since. When she’s not in the cellar, you can find her tending to calls for the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol.
Winemaker Assistant
Adam is a true West coast guy, laid back and always game for adventure. He grew up in Camarillo, California where he learned to love surfing and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor of science in pharmacology. Adam made the move to Hood River in 2015 to spend his summer kiting the mighty Columbia and, like so many Gorge transplants, he fell in love with the place and never left. Adam joined the Evoke team that year working in our flagship tasting room team. He started helping out with the production team working harvest in 2017 and we are so excited to have him in the cellar full time now!
