Serendipity introduced Peter to the former owners and founders while riding a chairlift at Mt. Hood in 2010. They were looking for a full-time winemaker and as luck would have it, Peter was just the man for the job! Having grown up in Germany, Peter learned winemaking and distilling at an early age from his uncle. When he was older, he enjoyed fabulous wines all over the world. He and his wife Kristi purchased the company in 2017. Kristi is an Oregonian. She got her B.A. in Visual Design from U of O. She then went back to school 17 years later and got a masters in Occupational Therapy from Pacific University. Both she and Peter met in Hood River at Three Rivers Restaurant, while having lunch at separate tables. As she was leaving, he ran after her, gave her his number and asked her to go skiing with him. She finally called him a month later, he remembered her and they've been skiing together ever since. They are now married and work side by side enjoying every minute of owning a really FUN company with the most amazing team of people and an even more amazing family of wine club members and guests.

Alaina is not your average winemaker. For starters, she’s young and she’s a woman. Alaina grew up on her family's vineyard in the Hood River Valley and went on to receive a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Oregon State University. Peter hired Alaina in 2014 to support him with her technical winemaking knowledge. Five years later, in 2019 her understanding of Peter's winemaking philosophy gained her the control of our winemaking. In that time, she's added her stamp to what we now consider our best in class, amazing, award winning wines! When she’s not in the cellar, you can find her on the mountain rescuing people for the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol. 

Adam is a true West coast guy, laid back and always game for adventure. He grew up in Camarillo, California where he learned to love surfing and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology. Adam made the move to Hood River in 2015 to spend his summer kiting the mighty Columbia. Like so many Gorge transplants, he fell in love with the region and never left. Adam joined the Evoke team that year, working in our flagship tasting room as a very successful sales associate. In 2017, he started lending a hand with harvest and production and found his niche. Oh! you might see him on occasion, helping out in the tasting room — but we are so lucky he decided to utilize his chemistry background in the cellar, working in tandem with Alaina full time. It is his happy place!
