Fangtastic: the legend

Fangtastic: the legend

Legend has it that Malbec, once a rustic tannic thin skinned grape transformed into an eternal grape with mysterious magnetism, leaving its mark on whoever drinks its wine.

Originally it was one of France’s most common vines. Malbec’s strength was in blending with all the other grape varieties – good in a crowd, plentiful in number. However, between freezes and diseases killing it off, Malbec’s stakes got pulled from the hillsides. Never to grow in masses again, an outcast grape doomed as a relic of another time, skulking on the hills of France.

Malbec lived and died, until cuttings of it growing in the smooth Argentina climate gave it immortality. Transformed, it gained a velvety texture and notable blood red color especially when young, though not surprisingly it ages beautifully.

No longer just found in other countries, this transformed grape lurks here in the hills of the Columbia Valley.

Fangtastic Malbec delivers uncanny flavors of dark berries and peppercorns, dryness with just enough of acidity and is the elixer of this Spooky season. As the directions on the label state: Administer Fangtastic with great care. Pair Malbec with beef and you’ll become immune to its spells or just never notice that Malbec succeeded in leaving its mark on you.
