Open That Bottle Night
Great wine is meant to be shared!
Open That Bottle Night was created in 2000 with the main goal of motivating people to reconnect with each other over a great bottle of wine. The event was dreamed up by a husband and wife journalist team, who cowrote a wine column in The Wall Street Journal, to encourage their readers to open a special bottle and create memories with loved ones. Since it’s inauguration it has grown in popularity and is now celebrated worldwide on the last Saturday of February each year.
This year’s Open That Bottle Night is right around the corner, on February 26th.
If you are anything like us and have a dusty shelf (or two) with bottles that are off limits because you’re saving them for a special moment- consider this your sign. We’re thinking about popping a 2010 Pinot Noir or 2011 Oh! Orgasmic Zinfandel. What will you be drinking?
The spirit of the event is sharing good wine, good company and creating memories.
So fret not if your cupboards are lacking in dusty bottles, this could the occasion you’ve been waiting for to splurge on something fancy, try something new or simply gather your favorite people and pop open an everyday favorite.
Fun tip we picked up from fellow wine lover Ed Sheeran: When you finish a special bottle, grab a sharpie to write the date on the label and have everyone you shared it with sign their name for a memento from the night.
All Tasting Rooms will be pouring a special selection from the Evoke Winery library on Saturday, February 26th with a limited number available for bottle purchases (perhaps stock up for next year). We hope to see you. #otbn #letsmakememories
